The Asia Pacific Legal Innovation and Technology Association (ALITA) has launched its second annual ALITA Awards, Asia Pacific’s first community-based legal innovation and technology awards. Finalists will be invited to the award ceremony in person at TechLaw.Fest’s Live opening on July 20 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Last year’s award winners included Singaporean legaltech Litigation Edge’s InSynch Evidence Platform, Indian law firm Cyril Amarchand and Singapore Management University LIT Hackathon 2021 Champion team Lower the Bar, and were sponsored by CLOC, Linklaters and Clifford Chance.
Evolving from its inaugural Facebook-based voting model, the ALITA Awards 2022 will feature 6 new Award categories plus a Popular Choice Award.
Award nomination submissions for the 6 Award categories are now open until midnight on June 30, 2022. The top 3 finalists for each category will be announced on July 9, when online voting and in-person participants of TechLaw.Fest can vote for their favourite amongst the 18 award semi-finalists across all 6 categories for the single winner of the People’s Choice Award until July 21, where the winner will be announced at the closing ceremony of TechLaw.Fest 2020 on July 22.
“We look forward to celebrating more legal innovations and technology from across the Asia-Pacific,” said ALITA Steering Committee Co-Chair Brian Tang, who is based in Hong Kong SAR, China.
“Giving due recognition to the incredible efforts that have been put into furthering legal innovation and technology across Asia-Pacific is a crucial part of growing this ecosystem, and the ALITA Awards aims to do just that,” said ALITA Steering Committee Co-Chair Adeline Chin, who is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
