Millions of children will miss healthy school meals when pandemic relief expires

A strengthen in resources and overall flexibility in how meals is geared up and packaged was a lifeline for young ones coping with starvation. But these measures, passed in reaction to COVID-19, expire in June, with no extension.

When faculties pivoted to virtual discovering early in the pandemic, the Nationwide School Lunch Program was thrown into chaos. Hundreds of thousands of kids count on college meals to continue to keep starvation at bay, so college nutrition directors scrambled to undertake new, innovative ways to distribute foodstuff to families.
