Nikolas Bowie, constitutional law and legal history scholar, named professor of law at Harvard

Nikolas Bowie ’14, a scholar of constitutional law, local federal government legislation, and authorized historical past, is being promoted to professor of law at Harvard Regulation College, effective July 1.

Bowie joined the Harvard Legislation college as an assistant professor in 2018. He was formerly the Reginald Lewis Law Training Fellow at Harvard, even though completing a Ph.D. in historical past at Harvard College.

A well-liked trainer and influential mentor, Bowie was the winner of the 2021 Sacks-Freund Award for Educating Excellence. Bowie also served on the postconviction and appellate panel of the Committee for Community Counsel Services, the public defender company of Massachusetts.

Bowie graduated in 2009 from Yale University, the place he gained the John A. Porter Prize for most effective senior thesis in American record. At Harvard, he gained an A.M. in heritage in 2011, a J.D. in 2014, and a Ph.D. in history in 2018.
